Inspired by the 1958 film “The Blob” in all of its gloopy good sci-fi horror, starring Steve McQueen and a cast of exciting young people! For extra credit, we also watched the 1988 remake starring Kevin Dillon, which was full of everything you could want in an 80s horror flick: angsty teens, motorcycle stunts, government conspiracies and coverups, and gushy gory special effects! (re-watching these cult classics was important research/inspiration as we brainstormed and sketched ideas!)
Our pink metal enamel pin is a hefty 1.75" with two rubber backings, and features raised details of things trapped within the blob (a skull, a shoe, a soda cup, etc.), and it's finished with a smooth layer of clear enamel.
FYI: This pin is part of our Blobfest collection. We were vendors at the festival this year, as the town of Phoenixville, PA celebrated the event's 25th anniversary! The festival is held downtown and at the Colonial Theatre, where the original movie was filmed!
